DesignAt first glance, the Deebot N79S doesn’t look all that special, especially if you’re used to seeing gleaming, futuristic-looking robotic vacuums. When you first set up the vacuum, you’ll need to charge it and download the app where you’ll register and connect to the vacuum. Apart from those hiccups, when the Deebot N79S didn’t get stuck, it actually worked quite well. If you use Google Assistant more than Alexa, you might have problems getting the Deebot N79S to respond to voice commands a

Between all the RGB PC parts, keyboards, mice, keyboards and even monitors, the world has been sorely lacking in light up speakers. Featuring four different lighting zones, the Logitech G560 is designed to bathe rooms in rainbow lighting. Aside from all the cool lighting effects, the Logitech G560 looks to be a powerful 240W, 2.1-channel stereo speaker setup. The Logitech G560 is available now for $199 (about £140, AU$250). Logitech also announced a big update for its entry-level keyboard that,

Google has open-sourced the AI-based camera technology powering the Pixel 2’s Portrait mode. The new Pixel phones used a Google exclusive “semantic image segmentation model” called DeepLab-v3+, which is now released on open-source software library TensorFlow. The search giant shared a blog post to announce the release. As seen on Pixel 2, the technology helps the camera to produce the synthetic shallow depth-of-field effect in the Portrait mode. We’re still weeks away the LG G7 release date, but can give you a good idea of what it’ll look like right now. In line with other LG flagships, we expect it cost at least $729 (about £568, AU$967), the price of the LG G6. If you believe some LG G7 price rumors, it may even rise in price by $90 (£70, AU$120). The functionality has rolled out to a small number of users at this point and has been confirmed by a Spotify spokesperson as “just a test for now”, according to TechCrunch, with more official details to come. With commands that include playing specific songs, playlists and artists, as well as more general requests on genres and moods, this feature aims to g

In an announcement today, Microsoft revealed that its researchers in Asia and the US have created an AI translator that has “achieved human parity”, meaning that its translations are on par with what a professional human translator could accomplish. Microsoft’s language research teams tested their AI on an open-source test set of Chinese news stories from last year that many other tech companies use to benchmark their progress. Once that is achieved, they’ll be able to incorporate this AI into M

There’s something different about the LG G7. The notch cut out at the top is optional on the LG G7, according to a tip we got to re-check a previously leaked video by Ynet. Google’s 2018 operating system software is embracing the notch with this move, and it appears as if the LG G7 is too – if you want. That’s different from other Android notch phones, like the Asus Zenfone 5, which lock you in with a hardware notch. Fresh rumors from today indicate that the LG G7 and rumored LG G7 Plus release

Lyft isn’t letting the self-driving car revolution pass it by. Lyft just announced it’s teaming up with Magna, a massive automotive parts supplier, to develop self-driving car systems. So, instead of building one model of self-driving car for Lyft’s own use, the two will create autonomous driving platforms that can be integrated into many different vehicles. In addition to the partnership, Magna is investing $200 million in Lyft for an equity stake in the company. This is a pretty big move for L

(Credit: Cadillac)With Super Cruise, the system goes well beyond the on-board sensors that keep you centered in your lane. “One of the benefits of Super Cruise is to reduce driver fatigue during highway commutes – especially during heavy congestion on every day commuting and on long distance trips,” says Daryl Wilson, the Lead Development Engineer for Super Cruise. “Super Cruise combines information from five cameras with a high-definition LIDAR-scanned map database and real-time corrected preci

What movie or game world, integrated with the real world, would get you exploring your neighborhood? In an announcement today, Google said that it’s made the Google Maps API and ARCore available to game development partners. One featured Google Maps partner, 4:33 Creative Labs, is making a Ghostbusters World AR game where you capture ghosts, which sounds very familiar. This is ironic, considering Niantic used its own Ingress Engine separate from Google’s API for Pokemon Go, and will do the same

Splinter Cell may be a stealth video game series but its next possible release is anything but at the moment. On Amazon Canada a listing appeared recently for Splinter Cell 2018 and though it’s since been taken down an eagle-eyed Redditor spotted it and a screenshot lives on. Given that we don’t actually have any confirmation a Splinter Cell game is coming this year and it’s possible Amazon could have been putting up the listing as some kind of placeholder (an oddly specific choice though Splint

Face 2 Face, now available on Netflix, is an independent movie told through computer/phone screens of two American teenagers. It was also much more affordable than a cinema camera. While the iPhone produced a clean image, the GoPro was the winner as it felt the most natural to Toronto. There’s nothing worse than the internet dropping when you’re doing something important, but that’s exactly what happened to Face 2 Face filmmakers. Face 2 Face is currently available on Netflix and you can check o

Microsoft has revealed its plans for E3 2018 in a new blog post on Xbox Wire and this year it’s trying something new. This year however, Xbox is moving both its media briefing and its hands-on experiences to the Microsoft Theater. Though Microsoft will still have a booth in the main convention center, it’ll be dedicated to its Mixer streaming service. This would go some way to explaining all those floor plans showing a comparatively small Microsoft booth that were doing the rounds earlier in the

Virtual surround sound gaming headphones are nothing new. The company recently unveiled its first gaming headphone, the Audeze Mobius, that uses head tracking to position audio appropriately. That’s where the Mobius’ secret weapon – a pair of planar magnetic drivers – comes into play.
