SteelSeries has revealed the Arctis Pro range, a new line-up of headsets with a flagship model that promises some seriously smart sound. The top-end headset is the Arctis Pro + GameDAC, which employs an ESS Sabre DAC and amp to pipe high quality sound straight into your lucky ears. Wireless wonderAs mentioned, the GameDAC is the centerpiece of the flagship model, but there’s also an Arctis Pro Wireless headset which, as you might guess, dispenses with the connecting cable. The entry-level offeri

Word from the GPU grapevine is that Nvidia will soon be launching new dedicated graphics cards aimed at cryptocurrency miners. Apparently, this P102-100 mining GPU from Inno3D (pictured below) will run with 3,200 CUDA cores and a base clock speed of 1582MHz. So, these new mining cards will still face the same issue as gaming-targeted GeForce GPUs: quite simply, there’s only so much memory to go around. Finally, another apparent thorn is speculation about these mining cards’ pricing being pitched

The Fitbit Versa is the latest wearable to blur the line between fitness tracker and full-fledged smartwatch. If you’re interested in Versa, there’s a good chance that its previous smartwatch effort, the Fitbit Ionic, might also be of interest. Fitbit is set to update its app later this year to allow women to track their menstrual health alongside the long-standing stats for your steps, heart rate, fitness and sleep. You’ll be able to log details relating to your menstrual cycle which will work alongside the data Fitbit normally provides to get a more complete snapshot of your overall health. If you don’t own one of those specific watches but you do use the Fitbit app, you’ll also get the option to track it within the app on your phone

The newly announced Fitbit Versa is set for an April release, so considering the company is ready to announce an April release we can expect the Ace won’t land until May or June this year. Design and displayThe Fitbit Ace isn’t anywhere near as high-tech or attractive as the newly announced Fitbit Versa. FeaturesThere’s no GPS, heart rate tracker or top end tracking equipment in the Fitbit Ace. There’s also sleep tracking here for monitoring duration as well as disturbances in the night, but the

Image qualityOther facets of image quality are harder to quantify, like ‘bokeh’ (the attractiveness of defocused areas within images). So where Canon, Sigma and Tamron classify their APS-C format lenses as EF-S, DC and Di-II respectively, you’ll need Canon EF, Sigma DG or Tamron Di lenses for a full-frame body. It’s certainly not always the case that own-brand Canon lenses outperform competitors from independent manufacturers like Sigma and Tamron. From an image quality standpoint, sharpness and

Almost four years after its first release, Grand Theft Auto 5 is still a regular fixture in video game charts around the world and its sales continue to thrive. In times of uncertainty it’s oddly comforting to see Grand Theft Auto 5 quietly hold its popularity. According to a recent report from Kotaku UK, Rockstar will give Grand Theft Auto 5 a new lease of life by releasing a premium version of the game for PS4 and Xbox One as soon as April 2018. Throughout February and March, we saw a few leak

A popular calendar app for the Mac has disappeared from Apple’s App Store after it was found to be mining cryptocurrency without the user’s permission. Mining without permissionThe problem was that even if the user was running the free version of the app, and hadn’t given said permission, the software was still mining cryptocurrency – and this happened thanks to a bug, the developer (Qbix) explained. Following these discoveries, Magarshak issued a statement to say he was removing the mining feat

The rumored, flagship Nokia 9 could be one of the first smartphones to boast an in-display fingerprint scanner if the latest leaks are to be believed. Ever since smartphone makers declared war on the bezel, the fingerprint sensor has been banished to the back of devices or cut altogether. The aim is to “maximize the display area” on its flagships, apparently, beyond the efforts of the Nokia 8 Sirocco. First past the postThe in-screen fingerprint sensor is something that’s been tipped once before

There’s a brand new firmware update for the Nintendo Switch available now that should make it a whole lot easier to connect with your friends. You will, of course have to link your social media accounts to your Nintendo Switch accounts and your social media friends will have to have done the same for them to appear as a suggestion. Switch solutionsOutside of this, there have also been some parental control changes. To make parental control PIN entry less obvious, the default entry method is now

The biggest flagship phone launch of the month is almost certain to be the unveiling of the Huawei P20 and its Lite and Pro variants. It would seem the microSD slot is getting dropped on the P20 and P20 Pro, for instance, as it’s not mentioned in the manual. There’s news on the battery too, with the Huawei P20 manual listing a 3,400mAh battery pack (the Huawei P10 came with a 3,200mAh one), and the Huawei P20 Pro apparently coming with a 4,000mAh battery to hit parity with the Huawei Mate range.

Smart home giant Hive has released a new home hub, the Hive Hub 360 and this time it’s actually good looking. It’s designed to sit in the same visual family as Hive’s beautifully designed Hive View camera. Bringing chic to the smart homeThe Hive Hub however wasn’t designed by Béhar, rather ‘is in keeping with the Hive View style’. Hive has applied this stroke of design to the Hub 360, too, which replaces the nondescript white plastic box that was the original Hub. To match the Hive View, the Hub

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is the next really big smartphone from Samsung now that it has launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, and we’ve gotten our S Pen out to declare which rumors sound plausible and which are just wishful thinking. That short-lived Samsung Galaxy Note 7 followed a similar schedule two years ago. This could be an idea used by the Galaxy Note 9. Now, we can’t say with complete certainty that these images, which show the purported Huawei P20, P20 Pro and P20 Lite in a variety of different colors, are on the level — but judging from the sheer number and quality of the pictures, they certainly appear like the real thing. The images show the Huawei P20 Pro in Black, Blue and Twilight (our favorite), along with the standard P20 in Black, Blue and Pink-Gold, followed finally by the P20 Lite in Black, Blue and Pink. Xbox One X and One S owners will soon be able to enjoy a luxury that PC owners have had for the last three years. AMD and Microsoft have announced that the two higher-end Xbox One consoles will both get Radeon FreeSync support from Q2 this year. FreeSync reduces the amount of screen-tearing and mismatched frames in games, reducing ‘stuttering’ and providing a more seamless and smooth gameplay experience. If you meet those requirements, once the update is live you’ll then be able to activate Free

So, for users that often rely on these shared bikes for regular travel, Apple Maps won’t be a big help there. This information could eventually be added, but for now, the bike sharing services’ dedicated apps will be necessary. However, Apple Maps’ new feature will shine when any bikers travel a new town and want to explore on a human-powered pair of wheels. The addition of bicycle sharing helps Apple Maps move ever closer in the race to catch up to Google Maps. Let’s be honest, bike sharing isn
