Picked up a brand new iPhone X for yourself this morning? Apple has some advice about that OLED screen, namely that color and hue shifts, and perhaps a little bit of burn-in, are to be expected with this kind of display technology. In a new support document, Apple says “you might notice slight shifts in color and hue”, which is “normal behavior” for an OLED screen. Apple says it’s worked hard to minimize burn-in, but that it might still appear after “extended long-term use” of the iPhone X. Appl

So you might have been tempted to think that the iPhone X isn’t much different on the inside from the iPhone 8 Plus aside from that fancy OLED screen and the new Face ID facial recognition technology, but iFixit’s new iPhone X teardown shows how wrong you’d be. Good thing, too, as iPhone X repairs are already absurdly expensive . Defying logicThe most fascinating new element, though, is the logic board. Or, more precisely, it’s a single logic board that’s basically been folded over and soldered

Despite the overall trend of declining tablet sales, Apple and Amazon saw shipments rise year-over-year in the third quarter. Samsung, though, suffered a 7.9% drop, with shipments declining from 6.5 million to 6.0 million. All total, Apple’s market share bounced up by 3.9 percentage points to 10.3 million units sold in this year’s third quarter. “Although Apple still enjoys a substantial premium over competitors, the lower-priced iPad has helped it to cement the first-place position,” IDC says.

And now, at last, Facebook is getting in on the polling action as well. As of today, you can log onto Facebook and make a poll of your own, no matter if you’re using a desktop browser, iOS or Android. One thing or anotherUnfortunately, unlike Twitter, you can only create polls that let users choose between two options. But neither is it entirely unexpected, as Facebook recently added polls to Instagram stories. Just keep in mind that it probably won’t be long before your reclusive relatives are

Amazon thinks you will if the tech is right, and is launching Amazon Key on November 8 in 37 cities in the US. Available at no extra cost to Amazon Prime members, Amazon Key is a unique ‘in-home’ delivery service built on what Amazon calls ‘secure home access’. Nvidia continues to surprise us with new graphics cards, and today it just released a teaser for a new Titan X Collector’s Edition. There’s no mention of specs, much less anything, but we do see this collector’s edition card sporting a new reference design from Nvidia. Interestingly, it looks like the lighting could be customizable, as in one frame of the video there’s a second glowing red graphics card opposite of the Titan X Collector’s Edition. It’s possible that Nvidia will announce the Tita

We hope you’ve got the candles ready – the Nintendo DS is about to enter its teenage years. Yes, we know, we can’t quite believe it either but it really has been over 12 years since Nintendo first launched its dual-screen handheld. As good as the DS is, though, by this point the majority of us will no doubt have replaced our Nintendo DS with its chunkier and more powerful successor the Nintendo 3DS. From excellent original titles such as Pokemon Black and White 2 to classic SNES ports like Kirby

The newly launched iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus all support wireless charging, while Android devices such as the Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8 Plus and the US version of the LG G6 will all work with these pads too. “What astronauts experience in space must be mitigated to produce safer space travel for the public.” She also saw evidence of a narrowing of the space between the top of the brain and the inside of the skull. Altered visionIt’s not totally certain what the effects of these changes in brain structure might be. The study’s co-author, Michael Antonucci, added: “The changes we have seen may expla

Unfortunately, this is a very real risk that Nintendo Switch owners currently face. Going back to the tense days of corrupted PlayStation memory cards and dying Game Boys, the Nintendo Switch doesn’t offer any way to back up game saves. That means that if your Switch console is lost, stolen or breaks all of that progress you made in Super Mario Odyssey will just disappear. Compared to PlayStation and Xbox’s cloud storage and physical back up capabilities, this leaves the Nintendo Switch looking

So, the headline figure for this month’s Steam stats is that Windows 10 has tumbled from 45.98% to 28.6%, a massive drop of 17.38% in the amount of gamers using Microsoft’s newest OS. There is a good chance, in our opinion, that this is reflected in the precipitous drop of the popularity of Windows 10. Popularity knownSo, why are there so many new Chinese gamers on Steam now? And we’d further guess that there are a lot more Chinese gamers who have stayed on Windows 7 rather than upgrading to Win

While electric vehicles have a lot going for them, an area where they tend to fall slightly short is in long-distance travel. That could change, however, thanks to Ford’s new joint venture to build a high-powered charging network for electric vehicles. Together they will install and run around 400 fast charging stations across major European roads by 2020. Each charging station will have a capacity of up to 350 kW and the network will use the European charging standard Combined Charging System s

A Kickstarter campaign for a device that blows wind on your face to give you a more immersive VR experience has achieved it’s complete funding goal within a few hours of launch. Reminiscent of 4D cinema experiences that blow wind in your face to give you a more immersive 3D experience, the ZephVR straps to your VR headset and blows wind on your face in moments where you’d have a windy face in the game. And all jokes aside, it does look like the ZephVR would enhance the VR experience. You can see

With all the recent teases from OnePlus there’s been little doubt that the OnePlus 5T exists, but now the company has gone a step further and confirmed the phone and its name. Dubbed the OnePlus 5T, as expected, the handset was mentioned by name by the company’s CEO Pete Lau in a forum post, where he also confirmed that the upcoming handset would have a 3.5mm headphone port. So don’t expect the OnePlus 5T to be much if any slimmer than the 7.3mm OnePlus 5. pic.twitter.com/nqVrWVMQ0mNovember 2, 2

How do specifications vary and can you really tell the difference between one HDMI cable and another? The good news is that High Speed HDMI cables are common, and not necessarily expensive. The real minefield when buying an HDMI lead are the scores of brands which claim to offer genuine HDMI licensed cables. Respected accessory specialist Lindy
